ANTE PLANINIC E’ GIALLONERO
Si chiama Ante Planinic il nuovo acquisto della Intech Virtus Imola.
Planinic, 21enne croato, è un’ala forte che si disimpegna bene anche da ala tiratrice. Alto 197 cm, ha una stazza atletica importante con buone qualità a rimbalzo e nel tiro dalla media e lunga distanza. E’ un lottatore e sarà certamente un innesto importante nello scacchiere di coach Marco Regazzi.
Possiede la doppia nazionalità croata e bosniaca esattamente come Ivan Begic, contro cui ha giocato nelle ultime stagioni in Division 1 bosniaca. Dove ha vinto il titolo al termine dell’ultimo campionato con il Siroki.
Dopo tre stagioni nella prima categoria della Bosnia Erzegovina, Planinic è passato in estate al Brotnjo in Division 2, dove ha registrato statistiche importanti come 35’ di media (38’ al debutto), quasi 90% da 2 punti, il 45% da 3 punti nella prima gara stagionale e 5 rimbalzi di media nelle due gare disputate prima di sposare il progetto della Intech Virtus Imola.
Alla presentazione avvenuta presso la sede della Intech, il main sponsor della Virtus Imola 2019/2020, Planinic si è presentato salutando i tifosi, augurandosi di incontrarli presto e di vederli numerosi sugli spalti del palazzetto.
Dopo esser giunto in città nel primo pomeriggio e dopo aver partecipato alla presentazione ufficiale con la sua nuova maglia della Intech Virtus Imola, Ante Planinic ha fatto la conoscenza dei componenti della squadra e dello staff tecnico nel primo allenamento serale al PalaRuggi.

Queste le sue prime parole in giallonero:
“ Sono molto contento di essere arrivato qui a Imola. Aiuterò la squadra a raggiungere i propri obiettivi. Arrivo da 13 anni a Siroky e l’anno scorso ho vinto il campionato in Bosnia.
Sicuramente il tiro è la mia arma principale. Sono un discreto saltatore e mi piace combattere sotto canestro, sperando di essere sempre utile alla mia squadra.

There’s a new Intech Virtus Spes Vis’ player, his name is Ante Planinic. He’s 21, a power forward who also plays well as a point guard. He’s 197 cm tall, he has an athletic and well-built body size and he’s really good at taking important rebounds and at shooting from mid and long range, too. Ante will surely play a key role in the team of coach Regazzi, in addition he has a pugnacious behaviour on the field. He owns the double nationality, he’s both Croatian and Bosnian such as Ivan Begic who was one of his rivals in the past seasons in the Bosnian Division 1, in which he had won the title at the end of the last championship with the Siroky team. After three seasons in the Bosnian Division 1 he’s changed team and has played for Brotnjo in Division 2, reaching stats like 35′ played per game (38′ in his first game!), scoring almost the 90% of the two-point shots, scoring the 45% of the triples attempted in his first match of the season and taking 5 rebounds per game before agreeding to the Intech Virtus’ project. He has greeted the supporters at his own presentation in the headquarters of Intech, the main sponsor of the Virtus Imola 2019/2020, hoping that he will meet a great audience on the bleachers of the Palaruggi soon. After he has reached the city of Imola in the early afternoon and after he has taken part in his official presentation with his own new black-and-yellow jersey, he has known all the members of the team and of the coaching staff at his first evening drill. These are his first words as a Virtus’ player: “I’m really glad to be here, in Imola. I’ll help my team in reaching its aims. I come from 13 years spent in Široki and last year I won the championship in Bosnia. Surely, the shot is my principal weapon. I’m a discreet jumper and I like fighting under the rim, hoping to be useful to our team. I greet all the supporters of the Virtus Imola, I invite you all to come numerous seeing our match beacause true Imola is only black-and-yellow.”
